Our Story
Est. 1976
A few years before Nick’s was
established, Pat Belew’s Gold Nugget
stood in it’s place. After Pat left in the middle of the night, the landlord asked one of the cooks, Nick if he would like to take
over. Nick’s Tavern and Deli opened in
1976 with Nick Vatakis and Milton
Antonakos at the helm.
In 1984, Nick and Milton sold the bar to Esther and Ken. Esther was a bartender, and Ken taught biology at Clemson. Our quaint tavern has been serving a rotating menu of unique craft beer, deli sandwiches, and delicious deep fried pub grub for decades. In 2021, the “beer bar” added liquor, including an impressive collection of whiskey and classic craft cocktails. We maintain a cozy, friendly atmosphere and ensure that everyone feels welcome.
